Normal at Any Cost by Christine Cosgrove and Susan Cohen won the 2009 Science and Society Journalism Award from the National Association of Science Writers (NASW).
Subtitled “Tall Girls, Short Boys, and the Medical Industry’s Quest to Manipulate Height”, the book details the history of medical attempts to alter height in children.
NASW established the Science in Society awards to provide recognition — without subsidy from any professional or commercial interest — for investigative or interpretive reporting about the sciences and their impact on society.
